Weekly Progress - June 11, '23
I’m a day late posting this week’s update because normally I do this at night while the little guy is napping on me before bed. But last night we tried switching things up and I went to bed early. It was mind blowing going to bed before I felt like I was about to collapse!
Anyway, lemme reflect on last week.
We went away to Hornby which meant I both didn’t have my scale and also had less control over food. So instead of fighting it I embraced it. I tried to mostly eat responsibly but added cookies in a few times where normally I’d have veggies, yogurt, or a protein bar.
The first morning back I weighed in and was happy to see that although I’d gone up I was still below 100.0 kg - which is a psychological bar I didn’t want to recross.
The first two days back though were hard to get back into certain habits with food. I was weirdly tired and didn’t feel like caring. I half assed tried to wing it without tracking intake. The scale didn’t like that though.
Worse though, I didn’t actually have a clue how I stood in relation to being on track for my goal. Once I updated the graph I had a “Oh shit, time to stop fucking around” moment. I’d previously been trending ahead but now was behind!
So Sunday and today I was on the ball. And things look like they’ll be back on track.
Exercise wise while away we walked a lot - several days I was over 25,000 steps, many of which would’ve been carrying the baby. Back home it’s still just swimming three times per week and running when I feel able to. I had a good run on Saturday, got excited and tried for another on Sunday but had to pull the plug halfway.
